Death of Mrs. James Albert Edson
Mrs. James Albert Edson, widow of J. A. Edson, died at her home on Madison street yesterday morning. Her death was caused by an obstruction in the bowels and acute Bright's disease, which developed after an operation performed last Monday evening. Mrs. Edson's maiden name was Hannah Hopkins. She was the daughter of James and Philura Hopkins and was born in Williamstown, Vt. March 22, 1836. She came to Rutland in 1861 and from that time was a resident of this city. In 1863 she married James A. Edson, who died January 8, 1893. Mrs. Edson was of an unassuming and domestic disposition and had a wide circle of friends. The funeral will be held at the house on Madison street Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
